Hello, I’m Qiana Toy-Ellis, owner and founder of Refinery Counseling Services LLC, a Disabled Veteran, Woman, and Minority-owned counseling practice in Columbus, GA, providing in-person counseling and virtual therapy across Georgia. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Georgia and have served in the counseling profession since June 2012 with a passion for transformational, restorative healing—helping clients move beyond survival into wholeness. My education includes a B.A. in Biblical Studies and a M.A. in Counseling with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, and from a Christian, biblical perspective, I believe every person has God-given value and that healing is a refining process marked by truth, grace, and purposeful growth (Psalm 147:3).
In addition to providing clinical mental health counseling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families, Refinery Counseling Services is committed to developing the next generation of clinicians. We support graduate students, interns, and pre-licensed clinicians in Georgia who need clinical consultation, supervised clinical hours, and internship/practicum placement to pursue licensure in the mental health field. Through structured supervision and consultation, we help emerging counselors strengthen clinical confidence, ethical decision-making, documentation, treatment planning, and professional identity—so they can serve clients with competence and care while progressing toward licensure requirements.
My background includes extensive work with diverse populations, including children and adolescents, families, women, men, seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, veterans and service members, addiction recovery, offender reentry populations, and the public school system.
